November marks his literal calendar birth (November 27, 1942). And the 3rd of November, 1968, brought Jimi to "3D" life, onstage, right before my newly budded gypsy eyes. My memoir of the concert can be accessed from my link to previous articles, at the bottom of this page. However, at the time it was written, I was unable to illustrate it with either of the two photographs I had taken. Finally, I have scanned one of them, which was unfortunately taken with the same cheesy camera that accompanied me to the Doors concert later that frenzied week in November '68. I do also have a short, but highly cherished Super 8 "home movie" from the Hendrix concert, and I intend to see what a skilled lab can salvage therein... as soon as possible. I (foolishly?) risked life and limb to record Jimi's image, having perched on my seat's armrests, and I've been hangin' onto the results for 30 years.*whew* Technology has vastly improved, and at last I'm thinkin' bout entrustin' my "Kodak moments" to lab-coated strangers... maybe. But i ain't in no hurry! *cackle*
